About the Center
Help care make room for the whole person.
Center for Integrative Neuroscience teaches whole-person care. We look at the links between a person’s health, their daily life, and the systems that support care.
We want clinicians, teachers, and practice leaders to see what a fuller view makes possible. Then we want to help them do the work that makes it real.
A purpose for every kind of practice
Whole-person care begins with the person in front of us. Comfort, feelings, relationships, daily life, identity, and meaning can all deserve attention.
The part each practice plays will differ. A good starting point is three questions. What matters to the person? What can the team offer? Where is more help needed?
Teaching that connects the idea to the work
We write books, guides, and teaching materials about whole-person care. We look at both the care model and the practical conditions around it.
Who helps? How do people work together? What keeps the plan moving? How can a practice keep the service going?
Writing you can check
Clear writing should make an idea easier to look at. It should also show where the idea came from and what is still unknown.
We keep rules, research, opinion, and our own advice separate. Each answers a different kind of question. Each thing we publish says who it is for, what it covers, and how to report an error.
The founders
Dr. Elizabeth Teklinski and Dr. Andrew Teklinski founded the Center. Their shared work brings whole-person care, teaching, payment, and everyday practice into the same conversation.
Elizabeth’s work has long included hospice and palliative care. Andrew’s is cardiology. Grief can reach the body. A person who loses a spouse may feel chest pain and land in a heart clinic. That is one small picture of why their two fields belong in the same conversation.
